Niagara's Juan`ya Green has won the StatSheet MAAC Player of the Week award for the week ending February 4th. Niagara's T.J. Cline has won StatSheet MAAC Freshman of the Week. Finally, Marvin Jordan from Niagara has won StatSheet's MAAC 6th Man of the Week. Green had great stats in rebounding (6.5 per game), scoring (24.5 pts per game), and assists (6.5 per game). The Niagara sophomore put these numbers up in a win versus Iona and a loss to Loyola (MD).
Green posted 26 points and 8 assists in 43 minutes in a close 93-90 win over Iona. He followed that up with a team-leading 23 points and 8 rebounds in an 89-87 loss to Loyola (MD).
This is a familiar honor for Juan`ya Green, who has been selected StatSheet MAAC Player of the Week three times. The runner-up this week is Maurice Barrow, a junior from Fairfield. Honorable mention goes to Canisius junior Jordan Heath.
StatSheet MAAC Freshman of the Week: Niagara's T.J. Cline
T.J. Cline was on the floor an average of 22 minutes while starting both games for Niagara. He led all MAAC freshmen in scoring (12.5 pts per game), assists (1.5 per game), and three pointers (2.0 per game). In the win over Iona, Cline rang up 11 points on 66% shooting. In the loss to Loyola (MD), he put up 14 points on 55% shooting.
Amazingly, T.J. Cline has won the StatSheet MAAC Freshman of the Week 3 times. Amadou Sidibe from Fairfield gets runner-up. Honorable mention goes to Coleman Johnson from Fairfield.
StatSheet MAAC 6th Man of the Week: Niagara's Marvin Jordan
Junior Marvin Jordan, a 5-11 reserve guard, played an average of 38 minutes over the two games for the Purple Eagles. In the win against Iona, Jordan added 9 points and 2 assists. Then in the loss to Loyola (MD), he racked up 4 points and 4 rebounds.
This is the first StatSheet MAAC 6th Man of the Week win for Marvin Jordan. Maurice Barrow, a junior forward from Fairfield, is the runner up. Colin Nickerson, a senior guard from Fairfield, earns honorable mention. Manhattan has yet to win StatSheet MAAC Player of the Week.
